Terri Entler: One Stop Shop for Pet Health Needs

April 3, 2022

About Healers PetCare- One stop shop for pet health needs.

Founder Terri Entler created Healers PetCare in August 2011 after experiencing disappointment with other pet product lines dealing with pet injuries. The company has since grown to offer a variety of items, including medical booties, Urban Walker booties, bandage wraps, gauze inserts, , Wound Care, Supplements, therapeutic wraps, and more. Each is made with high-quality materials designed to keep dogs safe and healthy.

Tell us about yourself?

My background is in engineering and product development. I worked for companies like Intel bringing products to market across the globe.

After my beloved dog, Jake, was injured and the veterinarian nor any pet stores had a simple home care solution related to his paw injuries so I put on my thinking cap and created the first real Medical Dog bootie with gauze insert that do not stick to the wound.

Veterinarians love them, pet owners love them and off we went. We now have a full line of pet products for keeping pets healthy and provide wound care.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Build strategic partnerships and connect with mentors that can help you grow and guide you through challenging growing pains.

What problem does your business solve?

Have you ever had to bandage a paw or your pets leg with just gauze and vet wrap. How many times as the gauze just slipped off, or the vet wrap get tangled to the point you just had to toss it and start over. How many times have you had to put that awful cone on your pet to stop them from licking a wound. We solve this with our products. Super easy to bandage and protect your dogs paw, legs, or torso. Our wraps keep the area covered so you may be able to keep the cone off. Simple solutions for challenging problems.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

My own experience with my own pets. When Jake was injured the solution was to wrap his paws and unwrap them twice a day so you could clean and soak his paws in a disinfected solution. This process was required for 2 months for the pads to completely heal.

What a nightmare. Also the cost of gauze and vet wrap really added up. So with my new line it solved this and it made it so so easy. With paw injuries being so common I knew our solution would help others as well.

What is your magic sauce?

Many boot companies claim there boot can be used for medical purposes but the are not truly designed for healing. They may protect but they do not offer that integrated solutions that can speed up the healing process.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Our goal is to get into more brick and mortar stores since people need our products immediately and dont like to wait a couple days for shipping.

We will be in Target later this year with a couple skus but with Pet health becoming a major priority with pet owners, MASS is seeing this as a high growth area and looking to add lines like ours.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Our products take a little education. So figuring out how best to reach our customers and educate them on how we can really help them and their pets.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

We want to talk anyone interested in carrying our line so we can reach more pet owners and help them keep their pets healthy. They should reach out to us to discuss carrying our line. Stores will need to have their own website and/or their own brick and Mortar stores. We work hard to train their people and we provide the very best support.
