I’ve been in sales for 25+ years. I founded Kensington Sales Group to provide specialized BDR support specifically for companies that sell to government.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
Be creative in hiring and don’t waste time on things that don’t directly affect business growth.
What problem does your business solve?
Public Sector Lead Generation for companies that sell to government agencies. We free up account executives and business owners to focus on higher value activities.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
In my experience, it’s difficult to get seasoned account executives to do sustained cold calling and prospecting.
What is your magic sauce?
Knowledge of the government and how they buy goods and services. Our competition tends to be inhouse teams or other marketing programs.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
We want to grow into ancillary verticals, such as utilities and regulated industries. International expansion is also in the plan.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
Hiring local talent. When COVID hit, we went completely remote and now hire wherever we find good people.
